Privacy

We don’t sell your data or use location for ads. There are no accounts and no visitor database. Precise coordinates are only used to run a search when you choose that option, not stored as a profile or history we can browse later.

Location

When you tap “use my location,” your browser asks for permission and sends the coordinates to our server once so we can ask OpenStreetMap / Nominatim for the city and state. With “your pin,” rounded coordinates are also used for that search to center venue lookup on you instead of the city center. When you search by address, the address you pick is geocoded to coordinates to center the search around that spot. When you type a city yourself, GPS is not sent to our API. We don’t tie any of this to an identity; we don’t collect one.

On your device

• Session storage can cache a result for this tab/session so we don’t repeat the same request; we can’t read that from our servers.
• Local storage may keep recent searches and light UI prefs — for a city: city, state, and score; for an address: the address label plus city, state, and score. Recent chips don’t include raw GPS.
• For an address search, the address also appears in the results page URL, so it may show up in your browser history.

Servers

Searches call mapping and geocoding APIs. We may cache responses briefly in memory to speed up repeats, not as a personal log and not to track who asked.

To prevent abuse, requests are rate-limited by IP address. IPs are held in memory only — no database — though rate-limit events can appear in server logs.

Feedback

If you use the feedback form, we receive your message and — only if you choose to include it — your email address, so we can reply. Feedback is delivered to our inbox as an email via Resend (a third-party email service) and kept only to respond and improve the app. It isn’t linked to your searches or location.

Third parties

Apple Maps (Apple’s Maps Server API) powers autocomplete, address geocoding, and venue search. It receives the text you type for suggestions, the address you pick, and the search location. These requests are made by our server, not directly from your browser, and are subject to Apple’s privacy policy.

OpenStreetMap / Nominatim handles city geocoding and resolving “use my location” to a city, so it may receive a city name or coordinates — also requested by our server, not your browser.

Vercel hosts the site and, like any host, keeps standard server logs (including IP addresses and requested URLs) per its own privacy policy. We don’t use those logs to build profiles. We also use PostHog for analytics — page views plus a few product events (like a share button being clicked). It runs in fully cookieless mode: nothing is stored on your device, and visitors are counted with a privacy-preserving hash that rotates daily, so it can’t track you across sites or days, let alone identify you.
